In this paper, an UWB antenna with configurable notches for cognitive radio applications is proposed. The antenna can be operated as ultra wideband, and is configurable in terms of the ability to select notched bands in UWB spectrum. The configurable band notches are induced using structures called complementary split-ring resonators (CSRR), and are controlled using electronic switches mounted over the CSRRs.
